اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ بَرًّا تَقِيًّا وَرَزَقْتَهُ الْعَقْلَ وَحُسْنَ الْخُلُقِ وَصَبَرَهُ عَلَى تَقْدِيرِكَ
O Allah, make him righteous and God-fearing, grant him intellect and good character, and make him patient with Your decree.

When to Read
This dua is traditionally recited after the Adhan is whispered into the newborn's right ear. The Adhan itself is the first sound that should reach the baby's ears, followed by this supplication. How to Read

Narrated Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him): I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) perform the Adhan in the ear of Al-Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was born. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5105). Another narration in Sunan Ibn Majah (1416) states that the Prophet ﷺ supplicated for the child after the Adhan, saying: 'O Allah, make him righteous and God-fearing, grant him intellect and good character, and make him patient with Your decree.' The chain for this narration is classified as Hasan.
