Source & Authentication

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There is no Muslim who is afflicted with a calamity and then turns to what Allah has commanded, saying: 'Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we will return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and compensate me with better than it,' but Allah will compensate him with better than that." Umm Salamah said: "So I said that when Abu Salamah died, and Allah compensated me with something better than him (i.e., the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)."
