Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2710

In the name of Allah. I seek protection in Allah's might, in Allah's power, in Allah's authority, and in Allah's safeguard from the evil of whatever He has created.

Bismillah. A'udhu bi'izzatillahi wa biqudratillahi wa bisultaanillahi wa bi'ismatillahi min sharri ma khalaqa.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful supplication draws upon the immense attributes of Allah – His might, power, authority, and protection. By reciting it, we are actively seeking refuge in the One who has absolute control over all creation, asking Him to ward off any potential harm or distress, including nightmares. It fosters a sense of security for both the child and the parent, knowing that Allah's protection encompasses them.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to teach them this supplication for seeking refuge from the heat of Hell and from the punishment in the grave: 'Bismillah. A'udhu bi'izzatillahi wa biqudratillahi wa bisultaanillahi wa bi'ismatillahi min sharri ma khalaqa (In the name of Allah. I seek refuge in Allah's might, and in Allah's power, and in Allah's authority, and in Allah's safeguard from the evil of whatever He has created).

Dua for a Newborn's Healthy Eyesight and Vision

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the helplessness of old age. And I seek refuge in You from the trials of the grave, and the punishment of the grave, and the trials of the Fire, and the punishment of the Fire, and the evil of the trials of wealth, and the evil of the trials of poverty, and the evil of the trials of the False Messiah (Dajjal). O Allah, cleanse my heart with the water of snow and hail, and purify me from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt, and keep me far from my sins as You have kept far the East and the West. O Allah, forgive me my mistake, and my ignorance, and my extravagance in my affairs, and whatever You know better of me. O Allah, forgive me my jesting and my seriousness, my mistake and my deliberate (sin), and all of that is with me. O Allah, forgive me what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed and what I have done openly, and whatever You know better of me. You are the One Who sends forth and You are the One Who delays; there is none worthy of worship but You.
