โœฆ

Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring the coolness of our eyes, and make us an example to the righteous."

Rabbana hablana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yunin waj'alna lil-muttaqeena imama

When to Read

This is a powerful supplication from the Quran that can be recited anytime. It's particularly meaningful when you're feeling the weight of responsibility for your family's well-being and spiritual development. Many parents find comfort reciting it daily, especially after salah, as a way to consistently seek Allah's blessings for their children and family.

How to Read

Recite this ayah with sincerity and focus, picturing your children and spouse. Understand the profound request you are making: not just for worldly comfort, but for eyes to be 'cooled' by the righteousness and piety of your family. Imagine the immense reward of being a leader in righteousness, not just for yourself but for your entire household and beyond.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses a deep yearning for a righteous family that brings joy and peace to your heart. It also elevates the aspiration to lead by example, becoming a beacon of faith for the God-conscious. Itโ€™s a comprehensive request that seeks both personal satisfaction through family and societal impact through righteous leadership. By asking to be an 'imam' for the muttaqeen (the God-fearing), we are asking Allah to enable us to raise children who will, in turn, inspire others towards goodness.

Dua for a Newborn's Healthy Eyesight and Vision

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the helplessness of old age. And I seek refuge in You from the trials of the grave, and the punishment of the grave, and the trials of the Fire, and the punishment of the Fire, and the evil of the trials of wealth, and the evil of the trials of poverty, and the evil of the trials of the False Messiah (Dajjal). O Allah, cleanse my heart with the water of snow and hail, and purify me from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt, and keep me far from my sins as You have kept far the East and the West. O Allah, forgive me my mistake, and my ignorance, and my extravagance in my affairs, and whatever You know better of me. O Allah, forgive me my jesting and my seriousness, my mistake and my deliberate (sin), and all of that is with me. O Allah, forgive me what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed and what I have done openly, and whatever You know better of me. You are the One Who sends forth and You are the One Who delays; there is none worthy of worship but You.
