‘Uthman ibn Abi al-‘As reported: When he complained to Allah’s Messenger ﷺ about pain he felt in his body starting from the time he had embraced Islam. Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said to him: ‘Place your hand upon the part of your body where you feel pain and say: Bismillah (In the name of Allah) – three times – and say: A'udhu bi'izzatillah wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir (I seek refuge in Allah’s might and His power from the evil of what I find and what I fear) – seven times.’ He said: I did that, and Allah removed the pain from my body, and I did not stop saying that to my family and others.
