The narration is that when a child was born to one of them, they would ask Allah to bless them with a gift. Then the child would be brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he would invoke blessings for them and return them to their parents. He said: 'May Allah bless you in His gift to you, may you give thanks to Him (the One Who Bestows), may the child reach the age of maturity, and may you be granted its righteousness.' (Reported by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i, and graded Hasan).
