Yahya related to me from Malik, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Ata ibn Yasar, from Abd Allah ibn Masud that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: 'No heart is between two of the fingers of the Most Merciful, the Blessed, the High, save that He makes it straight. And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say: 'O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.' And the evil deeds of a son of Adam are from the temptations that are in the chest.' (This version is from Muwatta Malik, Book 19, Number 19.1.4)
