Aamantu billahi wa rusulih

When to Read

When you feel overwhelming thoughts, doubts, or temptations planted by Shaytan (waswasa). This is a simple yet powerful affirmation to turn to when the whispers start, helping to ground you in your faith.

How to Read

Recite this simple declaration of faith with conviction, focusing on the truth of your belief in Allah and His messengers. It's a direct counter to the lies and doubts that Shaytan tries to sow. You can say it aloud or silently, depending on your situation, making it a constant companion against these whispers.

Virtues & Benefits

This statement directly counters the core tactic of waswasa, which is to instill doubt and fear. By affirming your belief in Allah and His messengers, you are strengthening your connection to the source of truth and protection. It's a reminder that your faith is your shield against these spiritual attacks, and by acknowledging the divine, you are seeking refuge and reaffirming your commitment, which in itself brings peace and steadfastness.

Source & Authentication

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: "The Shaytan comes to one of you and says: 'Who created such-and-such?' until he says: 'Who created Allah?' He said: 'When he (the Muslim) finds that, he should seek refuge in Allah (say: A'udhu billahi minash-Shaitanir-rajeem) and put an end to those thoughts.' Abu Muslim (one of the narrators) said: 'He should recite: Aamantu billahi wa rusulih.'
