الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَأَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever is given a blessing by Allah, he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is given a lot of sustenance, he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is given more, he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is afflicted by tribulation, he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is given something (by way of giving) he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is given a garment, he should say: Alhamdulillah. Whoever is carried (on a mount), he should say: Alhamdulillah. And when he says: 'Al-hamdu lillahi 'ala kulli haalin' (All praise is for Allah in all circumstances), he has indeed expressed the most excellent of praise.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 3845). The narrator added: 'And I ask Allah for forgiveness and 'Afiyah' (well-being).
