Dua for Patience and Strength When Facing Betrayal of Trust

Patience & Sabr
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 3538

O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worries.

Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya h'ukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'There is no one who has suffered any affliction and said: O Allah, my Lord, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worries, except that Allah will remove his grief and compensate him for his affliction.' And he said: 'And he (the Prophet ﷺ) said: It should be said (to the afflicted): It has been related to us that the Prophet (ﷺ) taught these words to the people.' (Ahmad 3538, Ibn Hibban 907 - Hasan)
