Dua for Patience and Divine Support Against Oppression

Patience & Sabr
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2708

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Great Throne, be my neighbor against the evil of the sky and the evil of the earth, and the evil of their devils, and the evil of every creature. You are the one who seizes its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.

Allahumma Rabba as-samawat as-saba', wa Rabba al-'arsh al-'adheem, kun li jaaran min sharri as-samaa'i wa sharri al-ardi, wa sharri shayaateenihi, wa sharri kulli daabbatin, anta akhidhun binasiyatiha, inna Rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqeem

Narrated by Abdullah bin Abi Sa'sa'ah, that Abu Salama bin 'Abdur-Rahman narrated that his father narrated to him: 'Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) would go to bed each night, he would cup his hands together, then he would blow between them and recite over them: 'Qul Huwallahu Ahad' (Surah Al-Ikhlas) and 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbil-Falaq' (Surah Al-Falaq) and 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbin-Nas' (Surah An-Nas). Then he would wipe with them whatever he could of his body, starting with his head and face and what faced him of his body. He would do this three times. And when he suffered from pain, he would recite over his hands and say: 'Allahumma Rabba as-samawat as-saba', wa Rabba al-'arsh al-'adheem, kunna li jaaran min sharri as-samaa'i wa sharri al-ardi, wa sharri shayaateenihi, wa sharri kulli daabbatin, anta akhidhun binasiyatiha, inna Rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqeem' (O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Great Throne, be my neighbor against the evil of the sky and the evil of the earth, and the evil of their devils, and the evil of every creature. You are the one who seizes its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path).' - Sahih Muslim 2708. While this hadith primarily discusses seeking refuge when ill, the invocation against evil and the affirmation of Allah's control are universally applicable when facing any form of distress or oppression.
