Ya Muqallibal-Qulub, Thabbit Qalbi 'Ala Deenik
When to Read
We often find ourselves navigating a world filled with distractions, doubts, and temptations that can subtly, or sometimes overtly, challenge our faith. This beautiful dua is for those moments when you feel your heart wavering, when whispers of Shaytan try to sow seeds of doubt, or when the pressures of dunya threaten to pull you away from your commitment to Allah. The Prophet ﷺ himself recited this dua frequently, recognizing the ever-changing nature of the human heart. Recite it whenever you sense spiritual weakness, when you face a moral dilemma, or when you simply want to reinforce your faith and ask Allah for steadfastness. It's particularly powerful in your sujood, during the last third of the night (Tahajjud), or after your obligatory prayers.

Shahr bin Hawshab narrated: 'I said to Umm Salamah: 'O Mother of the Believers! What was the supplication that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said most frequently when he was with you?' She said: 'The supplication he said most frequently was: 'O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion (Yā Muqallibal-qulūbi, thabbit qalbī `alā dīnika).' She said: 'So I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why do you supplicate so frequently: 'O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion?' He said: 'O Umm Salamah! Indeed, there is no human being except that his heart is between two of the Fingers of the Fingers of Allah. So whoever He wills, He makes him firm, and whoever He wills, He causes him to deviate.' He then recited: 'Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.' (Quran 3:8)
