O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the small and the great, the first and the last, the open and the secret. O Allah, I ask You for faith in You, reliance on You, and a longing to meet You. O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light to my right, light to my left, light in front of me, light behind me, light above me, light below me, and make light for me, and magnify light for me.

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to spend the night in prayer. He said: 'O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and Lord of the magnificent Throne, our Lord and Lord of everything, who splits the grain and the date-pit, who sent down the Torah and the Injil, a guidance for the people, and the Furqan: I seek refuge in You from the evil of every evil creature which You seize by its forelock. O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You; You are the Last, there is nothing after You; You are the Outwardly apparent, there is nothing above You; You are the Inwardly hidden, there is nothing beneath You. Settle our debt and enrich us from poverty.' (Sahih Muslim 2713). Then he mentioned a similar hadith about the Prophet (peace be upon him) praying and then supplicating: 'O Allah, forgive me my sins, the trivial and the serious, the first and the last, the open and the secret. O Allah, I ask You for the blessing of Your pleasure, and the blessing of the means of obtaining what You desire. O Allah, I ask You for a contented heart, for speech that is true, whether in earnestness or in jest. I ask You for moderation in wealth and poverty, and for a blessing in what You decree, and for a blessed life, and for a death that is followed by no misery. I ask You for the joy of looking at Your Face (i.e. in Paradise), and the eagerness to meet You without any affliction that would cause hardship or a trial that would cause misfortune. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guided (to Your commands) and rightly guided (following the Sunnah).' (Sahih Muslim 2074). And this dua specifically: 'O Allah, forgive me my sin, all of it, the small and the great, the first and the last, the open and the secret. O Allah, I ask You for faith in You, reliance on You, and a longing to meet You. O Allah, place light in my heart, and in my sight, and in my hearing, and to my right and to my left and before me and behind me and above me and beneath me. O Allah, increase me in light, and grant me light.' (Sahih Muslim 447).
