بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth nor in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recited in the morning, ideally after Fajr prayer, and again in the evening after Asr prayer. It's a shield against all forms of harm and misfortune for the day or night ahead.
How to Read
Recite this supplication sincerely and with full conviction in Allah's power. Utter the words clearly, focusing on their meaning: that Allah's name is the ultimate protection, rendering all other potential harms powerless. It's recommended to say it three times in the morning and three times in the evening for maximum benefit.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed us of the immense reward for reciting this dua. He said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, no affliction will befall him that day, and whoever says it three times in the evening, no affliction will befall him that night.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087). It's a profound statement of reliance on Allah (SWT) and a declaration of His absolute power over all creation, providing peace of mind and spiritual security.

Yahya related to me from Malik, from Musa ibn Maysarah, from Abdullah ibn Khubayb, that Khubayb ibn Adi, may Allah be pleased with him, said: 'I went out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on a dark and rainy night, and he said: 'Recite.' I said: 'What should I recite?' He said: 'Recite 'Qul Huwa Allahu ahad' and the two Chapters of Refuge at dawn and dusk (i.e. Al-Falaq and An-Nas) three times, and this dua: 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem.' (three times).'
