The Morning Dua for Asking Allah to Fulfill All Needs

Morning Adhkar
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 7:70

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and accepted deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is recommended to be recited immediately after the Fajr (dawn) prayer, before engaging in the day's activities. It's a beautiful way to start your day by seeking Allah's blessings in knowledge, sustenance, and actions.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely with conviction, raising your hands slightly as is customary when making dua. Focus on the meaning of each word and truly ask Allah to grant you these three crucial aspects for your worldly and hereafter success.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua in the morning is a powerful way to seek Allah's divine assistance in multiple facets of life. * **Beneficial Knowledge ('Ilman Naafi'an):** This isn't just academic knowledge, but knowledge that guides you to what is right, increases your Taqwa (consciousness of Allah), and helps you understand the Deen better. It leads to actions that please Allah. * **Goodly Provision (Rizqan Tayyiban):** This encompasses all forms of sustenance – wealth, health, family, peace of mind – that are pure, lawful, and blessed by Allah. It's provision that benefits you and does not lead to transgression. * **Accepted Deeds ('Amalan Mutaqabbalan):** The ultimate goal is for our worship and good deeds to be accepted by Allah. This dua seeks that acceptance, ensuring our efforts are not in vain. It implies performing deeds with sincerity (ikhlas) and according to the Sunnah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself would make this supplication after praying Fajr, as documented in Sahih Muslim. This practice highlights its immense importance and the comprehensive nature of the request.
