Morning Adhkar
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2708

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth nor in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-samaa'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem

When to Read

This powerful supplication should be recited in the morning, ideally after Fajr prayer, as part of our daily remembrance of Allah (Adhkar). It serves as a spiritual shield against any potential harm, whether physical, spiritual, or even verbal, that might befall us throughout the day. By invoking Allah's name in this manner, we are seeking His protection before any potential troubles arise.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and full conviction in its meaning. Focus on the understanding that Allah's name is the ultimate safeguard. Take a moment to reflect on the attributes of Allah mentioned: His hearing and His knowledge. This focus enhances the connection and the power of the supplication. It is recommended to say it three times in the morning and three times in the evening for complete protection.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed us of the immense virtue of this dua. He said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, nothing will harm him that day. And whoever says it three times in the evening, nothing will harm him that night.' (Sahih Muslim 2708). This protection extends to all forms of harm, including harmful words, gossip, backbiting, and slander, which can deeply wound individuals and damage relationships. By reciting this, we ask Allah to shield our ears from hearing hurtful things and our tongues from uttering them, fostering a more positive and peaceful environment around us.
