اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This powerful supplication is recited immediately upon waking in the morning. It sets the tone for the entire day, asking Allah for the essential elements that lead to His pleasure: knowledge that benefits us, sustenance that is pure, and actions that are accepted.

Visualize the meaning as you speak: asking Allah for the guidance to seek and apply knowledge wisely, to earn and spend provision lawfully, and to perform deeds that are pleasing to Him, which inherently includes following the Sunnah.

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Prophet (ﷺ) would say the morning prayer, he would not say salutations until he had said: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, provision that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.' It was narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) finished the dawn prayer, he would say: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, provision that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.'
