Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for the night (to pray), he would say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah. Praise be to Allah! There is no god but Allah! Allah is the Greatest! And there is no power nor might except with Allah, the High, the Mighty.' Then he would say: 'O Allah! Forgive me my sins or pray as much as Allah willed. Then he would perform ablution and then offer the prayer. He would start the prayer with: 'O Allah! Lord of Gabriel, Michael, Israfil, and the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants in what they differ. Guide me to the truth, by Your permission, for verily You guide whomever You will to the straight path.' He would also say: 'I seek refuge in Allah's perfect words from the evil of what He created.' And he would say: 'Praise be to Allah! He has saved me from the trouble of the Ansar and from the evil of the two elders.' And whenever he woke up, he would say: 'All praise is due to Allah, Who has brought us back to life after death, and it is to Him that we shall be raised.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6312).
