اَللّٰهُمَّ أَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِيْ فَأَحْسِنْ خُلُقِيْ
O Allah, You have made my creation beautiful, so make my character beautiful.
Allahumma ahsanta khalqi fa ahsin khulqi
When to Read
This dua is recited when looking into a mirror. While there isn't a specific, separate dua for *reminding* oneself of Allah's judgment solely from seeing one's reflection, this profound supplication beautifully connects our outward appearance to our inner state, prompting reflection on our character which is ultimately accountable to Allah.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention after looking at your reflection. Focus on the meaning of the words, acknowledging Allah as the Creator of your outward form and humbly asking Him to perfect your inner self, your character and actions. This is a moment of personal reflection and connection with your Lord.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is a beautiful way to acknowledge Allah's blessings in creating us. By asking Allah to perfect our character, we are essentially asking Him to help us live in a way that is pleasing to Him, which inherently includes remembering our accountability on the Day of Judgment. It shifts the focus from superficial appearance to the lasting impact of our deeds and manners.
