O Allah, grant my soul its piety and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and Owner. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not feel humble, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.

Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to his daughter Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), seeks Allah's help in several crucial areas. It asks for piety and purification of the soul, which helps shield us from vanity and self-admiration that can stem from looking in the mirror. It also specifically seeks refuge from unbeneficial knowledge, a heart devoid of Allah's fear, insatiable desires, and unanswered prayers – all of which can be subtly influenced by Shaytan or lead us astray. By reciting this, we aim to purify our intentions and seek protection from spiritual and worldly detriments.
Source & Authentication
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to bed, he would hold his hands together and blow into them, reciting: 'Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad,' 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbil-Falaq,' and 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbin-Nas.' He would then wipe with them whatever he could of his body, starting with his head and face and repeating it three times. She also narrated that when he was ill, he used to recite these Surahs and wipe his body with his hand. It was also narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Our Lord, grant my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the best of those who purify it. You are its Guardian and its Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not feel humble, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.'
