Dua for Solace and Companionship Amidst Single Parenthood's Isolation

Loneliness & Isolation
Sahih HadithMusnad Ahmad 3640

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is inevitable. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone from Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a remover of my sadness and a banisher of my worries.

Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya huku-muka, 'adlun fiyya qadaa'uka, as'aluka bikulli-smin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabi-ka, aw asta'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa noora sadri, wa jalaa'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Narrated Abdullah bin Masud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'No person is afflicted by worry and grief, but he says: O Allah! I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your handmaid. My side is in Your hand. Your judgment on me is inevitable. Your decree on me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or taught to anyone from Your creation, or that You have sent down in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the light of my heart, and the spring of my chest, and a remover of my sadness and a banisher of my worries.' And there is no person who says this but Allah will take away his worry and grief, and replace it with relief.' The companions asked: 'O Messenger of Allah! Should we not learn these words?' He replied: 'Yes indeed, it is obligatory for everyone who hears them after me to learn them.'
