Virtues & Benefits
Seeking Allah's grace upon leaving the Masjid is a beautiful way to extend the spirit of worship into our daily lives. While this specific narration doesn't directly mention protection from gossipers, the general principle of asking Allah for His bounty covers all aspects of our lives. By asking for Allah's grace, we are implicitly seeking His blessings in all our dealings, which includes protection from sins and harm. Furthermore, maintaining good conduct within the Masjid and carrying that mindfulness outside, such as avoiding gossip, is a practice that earns Allah's pleasure.

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When anyone of you leaves his home, he should say: ‘Bismillahi, tawakkaltu ‘alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi’ (In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah). It will be said to him: ‘You have been sufficed, defended and guided.’ And the devil will stay away from him." And another narration from him: "When anyone of you intends to leave his home, he should say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask of Your grace)."
