In the name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty. O Allah, protect me from the accursed Shaytan.
Bismillahi, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. Allahumma a'idhni minash-shaytanir-rajim.
When to Read
This dua is recited specifically when leaving the Masjid (mosque) after completing prayers or visiting. It's a transition from the sacred space of worship back into the everyday world.
How to Read
Recite this dua immediately after stepping out of the Masjid. It's recommended to begin with 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah), acknowledging that all actions are undertaken with His name. The mention of peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a way of sending salutations to him. Then, directly ask Allah for His bounty ('min fadlik'), which encompasses all good and provision, and seek refuge from Shaytan, as we re-enter the world where temptations can arise.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it acknowledges that any good we encounter or achieve outside the Masjid is a result of Allah's bounty. Secondly, by seeking refuge from Shaytan, we're asking for protection against negative influences, whispers, and temptations that might try to divert us from our righteous path as we mingle with people and navigate daily life. It's a beautiful reminder that our connection with Allah should extend beyond the Masjid walls and into every aspect of our lives, seeking His continued guidance and protection.
