Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When any one of you finishes his prayer and says the tashahhud, he should start with 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-jahannam wa min 'adhab al-qabr wa min fitnat il-mahyà wal-maut wa min shar fitnat il-masih id-dajjal,' and then he may say anything he likes." (Sahih Muslim 588). Another narration states: 'When one of you finishes the last tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allah from four things: from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death, and from the evil of the Dajjal. Then let him ask for whatever he wishes.' (Sahih Muslim 588). A related practice is the dua for leaving the Masjid: Abu Usayd Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say, when he entered the Masjid, 'O Allah, open to me the doors of Your mercy.' And when he went out (of the Masjid), he said: 'O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.' (Sahih Muslim 713). This specific dua, 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik', is recited upon exiting the Masjid, aligning with seeking Allah's continued blessings as one re-enters the world.
