Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1375

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

O Allah, I ask You from Your Grace.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik

When to Read

This dua is recited when leaving the Masjid, after completing the prayer or other religious activities. It's a beautiful moment to ask Allah for more than just what you received inside the Masjid, but also for provisions and goodness in the outside world, while remaining mindful of our actions and speech.

How to Read

Recite this dua after you have finished your prayers and are about to exit the Masjid. As you step out, with your left foot first, make this supplication sincerely. Imagine yourself asking from a generous Lord who has everything.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is a powerful way to ask Allah for His bounty and blessings as you re-enter the world. It signifies humility and recognition that all good comes from Allah. By asking for His grace, we hope to find success, sustenance, and protection in our endeavors outside the Masjid. It also serves as a reminder that our spiritual journey doesn't end at the Masjid door; we must carry that consciousness into our daily lives, striving to speak good and avoid evil, including backbiting and slander.

Source & Authentication

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "When one of you finishes his prayer in his mosque, he should say, as he is about to leave: 'O Allah, I ask You from Your Grace.' This is because Allah has made His Grace a source of provision."
