Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 986

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik

When to Read

This dua is recited when leaving the Masjid after prayer, particularly the obligatory prayers. It's a beautiful way to transition from the spiritual atmosphere of worship back into the worldly affairs, asking Allah to bless our endeavors.

How to Read

Recite this dua once after you have stepped out of the Masjid, or just as you are about to exit. It's simple, yet profound, encompassing a request for Allah's grace and provision in our daily lives. Many scholars interpret 'fadl' (bounty) here as encompassing all good, including protection from falling into sins like hypocrisy in our dealings.

Virtues & Benefits

This short supplication is a powerful request for Allah's continued favor and provision even after completing our acts of worship. It reflects an understanding that our success in navigating the world, including our business dealings and interactions, is entirely dependent on Allah's grace. By asking for His bounty, we implicitly seek His protection from anything that might displease Him, including dishonest or hypocritical conduct that can creep into our worldly affairs. It reminds us that true success is in pleasing Allah, in this life and the next.
