اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik
When to Read
This dua is recited upon leaving the Masjid after completing the prayer. It's a beautiful way to transition from the sacred space of worship back into the world, asking Allah to continue showering His blessings upon you, which can include protection from negative influences.
How to Read
Recite this dua after you have taken your first few steps outside the Masjid. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would say this dua to ask for Allah's grace and provision as he left the house of Allah and went about his day, seeking from Allah's abundant favors.
Virtues & Benefits
By asking Allah 'of Your bounty' as you leave the Masjid, you are essentially invoking His ongoing care and provision. This encompasses protection from all forms of harm and negative impacts that one might encounter outside the Masjid, including the temptation to engage in or be affected by gossip and slander. It’s a recognition that our strength and protection come solely from Allah, and seeking His 'fadl' (bounty/grace) is a comprehensive request for well-being in all aspects of life.

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you finishes the last Tashahhud, he should seek refuge in Allah from four things and say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of life and death.' Then he said: 'When one of you finishes the Tashahhud, then when he finishes, he should say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the Dajjal.' And he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the Tashahhud and the prayer and to say after the Tashahhud: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the Dajjal.' It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ would say when he left the Masjid: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.)
