Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1300

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ.

O Allah, I ask of Your bounty.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.

When to Read

This dua is recited when leaving the Masjid. It's a beautiful way to connect with Allah even as we re-enter our daily lives, asking for His continued blessings and provision.

How to Read

Recite this dua once after you have taken your steps out of the Masjid. It's typically recited after the specific duas for entering and exiting the Masjid, focusing on seeking Allah's grace and sustenance as you go about your day. It is recommended to recite it when leaving any mosque, not just the one you pray Friday prayers in.

Virtues & Benefits

This simple yet profound dua embodies the essence of reliance on Allah. By asking for His 'fadl' (bounty, grace, generosity), we acknowledge that all provision comes from Him. This seeking of Allah's bounty is a key to safeguarding oneself against financial hardship, as our ultimate wealth and security lie in His hands. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to encourage Muslims to continuously seek Allah's provision, reminding us that even in our daily movements, we should be mindful of seeking His blessings.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When anyone of you finishes his prayer and says, 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik,' (O Allah, I ask of Your bounty), he will have asked Allah for His bounty in a great way."
