When to Read
This beautiful dua is recited when leaving any Masjid. It's a moment where we transition from a state of worship and reflection back into the world, and this supplication helps us carry that blessed energy forward and seek Allah's assistance for whatever lies ahead.
How to Read
Recite this upon exiting the Masjid. Begin with 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah), acknowledging that all blessings and provisions come from Him. Then, directly ask Allah 'O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty,' recognizing His limitless generosity and our dependence on Him. It's a humble yet confident request for His ongoing favor and support as you step out into your day.
Virtues & Benefits
When you step out of the Masjid after praying, you are leaving a place of immense blessing and proximity to Allah. This dua is a direct request for His continued favor and provision ('fadl'). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when someone recites this, it is said to them: 'You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been blessed.' This implies that by asking Allah for His bounty upon leaving His house, we are granted guidance for our path, sufficiency in our needs, and blessings in our endeavors.

Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: 'When any one of you performs a prayer in his mosque, he should not sit in it until he has prayed two rak'ahs, and he should not stay in it for the purpose of guarding property or seeking something lost. And when any one of you leaves the mosque, he should say: Bismillah, Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. (In the name of Allah. O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.) It is said to him: You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been blessed. And the devil is distanced from him.'
