اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
O Allah, I ask of Your bounty.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik
When to Read
This dua is recited upon leaving the Masjid. It's a moment when we've just been in the company of Allah's remembrance and, ideally, in spiritual readiness. As we step out, we ask Allah to continue showering us with His favors, not just material blessings, but the greater favor of remaining guided and remembering the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in our daily lives.
How to Read
Recite this dua as you are exiting the Masjid. Ideally, you would be stepping out with your left foot after finishing your prayers and supplications. Focus on the meaning, asking Allah sincerely for His continuous grace and guidance, especially in following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
Virtues & Benefits
This short yet profound dua connects our spiritual experience in the Masjid with our worldly life. By asking for Allah's bounty, we are essentially asking Him to grant us continued success in pleasing Him, which includes adhering to the ways of the Prophet ﷺ. It reminds us that all good fortune stems from Allah, and seeking His 'fadl' (bounty/grace) is a constant state for a believer, especially after a blessed time spent in His house.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you finishes praying, let him say: O Allah, I ask of Your bounty.' And Ibn 'Umar used to say it after the prayer in the Masjid. (Sahih Muslim 494)
