Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika
When to Read
After you've spent time in the masjid—perhaps prayed your salah, recited Quran, or simply sat in remembrance of Allah—you eventually step back into the world. As you exit the masjid and transition from a space dedicated to worship back into your daily life, this is the precise moment to recite this profound dua. It marks your return to engaging with the world, seeking sustenance, pursuing your work, or attending to family matters, all while seeking Allah's comprehensive bounty.
How to Read
As you step out of the masjid with your right foot first, calmly and mindfully recite this dua. Let your heart acknowledge that all blessings, sustenance, and success in your worldly endeavors come solely from Allah. It’s a moment to mentally shift from the sanctity of the masjid to the responsibilities of the world, carrying the remembrance of Allah with you.
Virtues & Benefits
The word *fadl* (فضل) in Arabic signifies bounty, grace, favor, and abundance. When you ask Allah 'min fadlika' – 'from Your bounty' – you are asking for every good thing that originates from Him. This isn't limited to material wealth; it’s a comprehensive request that encompasses guidance, wisdom, health, peace, success in your work and studies, blessings in your family, and protection from harm. It’s an acknowledgment that even in our worldly pursuits, we remain utterly dependent on Allah for sustenance, ease, and favorable outcomes. By making this dua, we reaffirm our reliance on Allah as we leave His house to face the demands of life, seeking His grace to envelop all our daily aspirations and activities.
