اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ.
O Allah, I ask You from Your Grace.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.
When to Read
This dua is recited upon exiting the Masjid, after the congregational prayer or any other visit. It's a beautiful way to transition from a state of worship back into the world, asking Allah to continue showering us with His bounty and blessings.
How to Read
Recite this dua after you have fully exited the Masjid. It's Sunnah to exit with your left foot first, just as you entered with your right foot. As you step out, turn your body slightly towards the Qiblah (if possible without inconvenience) and make this supplication, feeling a sense of hopeful anticipation for Allah's continued grace in your day.
Virtues & Benefits
This simple yet profound dua encapsulates our reliance on Allah for all provisions, seen and unseen. By asking for His 'fadl' (grace, bounty, favor), we acknowledge that any good we achieve, any protection we enjoy, and any success we attain comes solely from Him. It reminds us that the connection we felt in the Masjid is not confined to its walls; we pray for that connection to be sustained and expanded into our daily lives through Allah's infinite generosity.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you enters the mosque, let him say: Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik. (O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. (O Allah, I ask You from Your Grace).' — Sahih Muslim 1300
