اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ.

O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.

When to Read

This beautiful dua is recited when leaving the Masjid, right after completing your prayers or visit. It's a moment when we transition from the sacred space back into the world, and it's the perfect time to ask Allah for His continued blessings as we step out.

How to Read

Recite this dua after exiting the Masjid. You can say it as you are walking out the door or taking your first steps outside. The intention is key: sincerely asking Allah for His grace and provision in your day ahead.

Virtues & Benefits

This simple yet profound dua is more than just asking for something; it's an acknowledgment of Allah's infinite grace. By asking 'from Your bounty,' we're recognizing that all good things come from Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this specific dua for leaving the Masjid, implying it carries special significance in that context. It's a way to carry the barakah (blessings) of the Masjid with you and to seek Allah's continuous support as you re-enter your daily life, which can be filled with temptations and distractions.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you goes out to the Masjid, he has walked upon something that will be recorded for him, and he has left something that will be recorded against him. When he sits in the Masjid, he is in a prayer as long as he is in the Masjid, and the angels pray for him, saying: 'O Allah, have mercy on him, O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, accept his repentance.' And when one of you leaves the Masjid, he says: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.' (O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.)" (Sahih Muslim 713)
