Dua for Leaving the Masjid: Invoking Allah's Help to Be a Humble Servant

Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 713

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

O Allah, I ask You of Your grace.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik

When to Read

This dua is recited when leaving the Masjid after completing your prayer or visit. It's a beautiful moment to reflect on the blessings received inside Allah's house and to seek His continued favor as you re-enter the world.

How to Read

Recite this sincerely, with the intention of seeking Allah's bounty. As you step out, remember that every good thing comes from Him. It's a personal supplication, turning your heart to Allah just as you turned to Him inside the mosque.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication embodies humility and a recognition of our constant need for Allah's grace. It acknowledges that even the good deeds we perform are enabled by His mercy, and any further blessings we hope for must also come from His boundless generosity. By asking for 'fadl' (grace, bounty, favor), we are essentially asking for more than we deserve, acknowledging our dependence on the Most Merciful.
