Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 494

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik

When to Read

This beautiful, concise dua is recited when exiting the Masjid after completing your prayer. It's a moment where the spiritual connection made inside the House of Allah is still fresh, and we seek to carry that blessed state with us into our daily lives.

How to Read

Upon exiting the Masjid, with your left foot leading, recite this dua. It's a profound request, asking Allah (SWT) to extend His grace and blessings to you as you re-enter the world. It signifies our reliance on Him for sustenance and success in all our affairs, not just our worship.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a vital aspect of our faith: acknowledging that all good things come from Allah (SWT). By asking for His bounty upon leaving His house, we are essentially praying for success, guidance, and provision in our worldly activities. It reminds us that our efforts are only fruitful through His permission and that true success lies in His grace. This simple request fosters a constant state of awareness of our dependence on the Creator, even when we are away from the places of worship.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When any one of you finishes the prayer and says: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty), then his request would be granted. And the supplication is to be made after the (obligatory) prayers.'
