Dua for Strength When Leaving Home for a Noble Cause

Leaving Home
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 4700

In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I should stray or be led astray, or fall into error or be caused to fall into error, or commit an injustice or suffer injustice, or aggress or be aggressed against.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika an adilla aw udalla, aw azilla aw uzalla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala 'alay.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When a servant says: Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. (In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah), it is said to him: 'You have been sufficed, protected and guided.' So the devil keeps away from him.' A man said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah! What if one of us, when he is inclined to leave his house, says this?' He said: 'Allah will suffice him.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 4700, Narrated by Abu Dawud. Al-Tirmidhi said this is Hasan Gharib. It is also found in An-Nasa'i's Al-Kubra.)
