بِسْمِ اللهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
In the name of Allah, I rely upon Allah. And there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
When to Read
This powerful dua is meant to be recited immediately after you step out of your home, or even as you are about to open the door, especially when you are facing a challenge, embarking on a significant journey, or starting a task that feels daunting. It's a declaration of dependence on Allah before confronting the difficulties of the world.
How to Read
Recite this with sincerity and conviction. Focus on the meaning of each word: acknowledging Allah's name, placing your trust in Him, and recognizing that all strength and power originate from Him alone. Imagine yourself drawing spiritual strength and protection as you utter these words.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua before leaving home has immense benefits. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that whoever says this will be told, 'You are guided, you are taken care of, and you are protected.' The devil will turn away from him, and another devil will say to him, 'How can you deal with a man who has been guided, is taken care of, and is protected?' This dua shields you from harm and provides the inner fortitude needed to face your challenges.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'When a man goes out of his house and says: Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (In the name of Allah, I rely upon Allah. And there is no might nor power except with Allah), it will be said to him: "You have been sufficed, protected, and guided." As for the devil, he turns away from him.'
