بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.

Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'ala Allah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a declaration of complete reliance on Allah (tawakkul). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised protection, sufficiency, and guidance to whoever recites it upon leaving their home. Source & Authentication

Narrated Anas: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "When a man goes out of his house and says: 'Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'ala Allah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' it is said to him: 'You have been sufficed, you have been protected, and you have been guided.' Satan turns away from him. Then another Satan says to him: 'How can you deal with a man who has been sufficed, protected, and guided?'" (Sunan Abi Dawud 5095, graded Hasan by some scholars. Similar narrations are found in Jami' al-Tirmidhi 3426, graded Sahih).
