Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised immense protection and guidance to the one who recites this dua. It is reported that when he ﷺ would say this, it would be said to him: 'You are guided, you are defended, and you are made independent of need.' Source & Authentication

Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "When a person says: 'Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah), it will be said to him: 'You are guided, you are defended, and you are independent of need.' So, the devil will say to him: 'How can you overcome a man who has been guided, defended, and made independent of need?'
