بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
When to Read
This is the perfect dua to recite when you are stepping out of your home, especially when you are heading out to deal with challenging financial matters. It's meant for the moment you physically leave your dwelling, carrying the weight of responsibility and the uncertainty of the outcome.
How to Read
Recite this sincerely with the intention of placing your trust in Allah. Say it aloud as you are about to depart, perhaps as you are closing your door or stepping onto the threshold. The key is the feeling of reliance and delegation of your affairs to the Almighty, even as you take action yourself.
Virtues & Benefits
This beautiful supplication carries immense benefits. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that when a person says this, it is said to them: 'You are guided, defended, and your needs are met.' Satan then moves away from them, and another devil says to him: 'What can you do to a man who has been guided, defended, and is protected?' This dua provides spiritual protection and inner strength when facing difficulties, including financial hardship, by reminding you that true power and resilience come only from Allah.
Source & Authentication
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'When a man goes out of his house saying: Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. (In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah), it is said to him: 'You have been sufficed, defended, and guided.' And the devils turn away from him. Then one of the devils says: 'What will you do to a man who has been sufficed, defended, and guided?'
