بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ.
In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
When to Read
This dua is incredibly powerful when you step out of your home, especially when you feel a sense of grief, loss, or heavy-heartedness. It's meant for those moments when the weight of sadness makes leaving feel difficult, but you must proceed. Recite it as you physically leave your dwelling, placing your trust in Allah.
How to Read
Say this with sincerity and a heart full of trust in Allah's plan. As you utter each phrase, picture yourself entrusting your journey, your worries, and your sadness to the One who controls all affairs. Let the words sink in: you are not alone in your struggle.
Virtues & Benefits
This beautiful dua offers immense comfort and protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when a person says this upon leaving their home, they are told: 'You are guided, defended, and protected.' The Shaytan (Satan) moves away from them, saying, 'How can I get to a man who is guided, defended, and protected by Allah?' This is especially comforting when leaving with a heavy heart, as Allah's protection becomes a shield against despair and negative whispers.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a person leaves his home and says: 'Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah), it is said to him: 'You are guided, defended, and protected.' The Shaytan moves away from him, and one of the devils says: 'How can you get to a man who is guided, defended, and protected by Allah?'" — Sahih Muslim 134
