Virtues & Benefits
This simple yet comprehensive dua encapsulates deep Tawhid (Oneness of Allah). It acknowledges Allah's name as the source of all blessings, declares total reliance on Him, and affirms that no power or strength exists except through Him. When recited upon leaving one's home, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that it acts as a protection. It is said that when one says this, they are told 'You are guided, you are defended, and you are protected.' This is a profound promise of divine care for those who entrust their affairs to Allah, especially during major life transitions like marriage.
Source & Authentication
Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'When a man goes out of his house saying, 'Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' it is said to him: 'You have been sufficed, defended and guided.' So the devil keeps away from him, and another devil says to him: 'How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended and sufficed?'
