Virtues & Benefits

When you recite this dua upon leaving your home, it is said that you will be protected from many ills. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned that when a person says this, it is said to them: 'You are guided, defended, and your needs are met. The devil will stay away from you.' (Sahih Muslim 1340). This protection extends to spiritual well-being as well, shielding you from temptations and misguidance as you go about your purpose, which in this case is seeking forgiveness.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'When a person leaves his house saying 'Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah', it is said to him: 'You are guided, defended and your needs are met.'
