Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a profound understanding of gratitude. It acknowledges that any good outcome, including recovery from illness or a successful procedure, is ultimately a blessing from Allah. By attributing the completion of good deeds (which recovery can be seen as) to His grace, we are affirming Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and recognizing our dependence on Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to be said upon experiencing something pleasing, making it a direct Sunnah for expressing thankfulness.

Source & Authentication

Reported by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he saw something that pleased him, would say: 'Alhamdulillahilladhi bi ni'matihi tatimmus salihat' (All praise is due to Allah, by Whose grace righteous deeds are completed). And when he saw something that he disliked, he would say: 'Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal' (All praise is due to Allah in all circumstances).
