O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and this established prayer, grant Muhammad al-Wasila (the highest station in Paradise) and al-Fadhila (excellence), and raise him to the Praiseworthy Station which You have promised him.
Allahumma Rabba hadhihid-da'watit-tammati was-salatil-qa'imati, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadhilata, wab'ath-hu maqaman mahmudan alladhi wa'adtahu.
When to Read
This dua is recited immediately after hearing the adhan (call to prayer), as the muezzin finishes announcing the prayer times. It's a beautiful moment to pause and connect with Allah, turning the call to prayer into a personal supplication.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus after you hear the muezzin finish the adhan. It's recommended to pause during the adhan itself and repeat what the muezzin says (except for 'Hayya 'ala as-Salah' and 'Hayya 'ala al-Falah', where you should say 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' - 'There is no might nor power except with Allah'). Then, after the adhan is complete, you recite this specific dua. Make sure to pronounce the Arabic words clearly, reflecting on their profound meaning.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua is a beautiful act of acknowledging the blessings of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It's a way to express gratitude for the institution of prayer, which is a direct connection to our Creator. By asking Allah to grant the Prophet ﷺ the highest stations, we are following his Sunnah and seeking intercession for ourselves. The Prophet ﷺ himself said, 'Whoever says this upon hearing the adhan, my intercession will be guaranteed for him on the Day of Resurrection.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306). This highlights the immense reward and spiritual benefit of this simple yet powerful supplication.
Source & Authentication
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: 'When the muezzin calls for the prayer, one of you should say the same as the muezzin says, and then he should ask Allah to grant me Al-Wasila, for it is a station in Paradise only deserved by one of Allah's slave, and I hope that I would be that slave. So, whoever asks Allah for Al-Wasila for me, he will be granted my intercession.' Sahih al-Bukhari 6306.
