Al-Tabarani narrated in Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you wakes up in the morning, let him say: (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance.) And when he enters the evening, let him say the like of that. And when one of you has something happen to him, let him say: (Glory be to Him by Whose command good deeds are completed.)' This narration, while mentioning a morning and evening dhikr, also includes this specific dua for times when something occurs, indicating its use for significant events, including those that resolve positively after potential harm.
