اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provisions, and deeds that are accepted.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This is a powerful dua the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often recite after the Fajr prayer. It's excellent to make this a regular part of your morning routine, asking Allah to bless your day with sincerity in your actions and knowledge. You can also recite it at any time you feel your intentions wavering or when embarking on a new task.
How to Read
Recite this dua with conviction, believing that Allah hears you and can grant your request. Raise your hands in supplication as you do so, a sign of humility and dependence on Him. Focus your heart on the meaning of each phrase: seeking knowledge that benefits you and others, seeking provisions that are lawful and good, and asking for your deeds to be accepted, which is the ultimate goal of sincerity.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly asks for three crucial elements for a Muslim life focused on pleasing Allah: beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds. Beneficial knowledge guides us, pure sustenance keeps our bodies and souls healthy, and accepted deeds are what truly weigh on the scales on the Day of Judgment. The acceptance of deeds is entirely dependent on sincerity (ikhlas) – performing them solely for Allah's sake. This dua, therefore, is a comprehensive request for the tools and the outcome of a sincere life.
