O Allah, forgive me for what I have put forward and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have disclosed, what I have exceeded in, and what You know better than I. You are the One Who brings forward and You are the One Who delays. There is no god but You.

Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he turned to us with a smile and said, 'Who can go to the people of the market and say, 'O people of the market, do not let any of you buy except the goods of Allah, and do not let him increase anything in the house except what Allah has decreed for him. For on the Day of Resurrection, I will be a witness for you and a supporter.' Then he stood up and said, 'O people of the market, repent to Allah before you cannot repent. O people of the market, seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn to Him. Verily, my Lord is Near, Responsive.' Then he said, 'Shall I not teach you a saying that the Prophet ﷺ said to his uncle Abu Talib when he asked him for help (in his old age)?' He said: 'Yes.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Say, O uncle: 'O Allah, forgive me my sins, whether minor or major, hidden or manifest, whatever You know of them.' So he said it, and Allah forgave him a great deal.' [Later the Prophet ﷺ] said: 'Indeed, this saying is a cure for the believer. Whoever says it once, Allah will forgive him what has passed of his sins, and whoever says it in the morning and evening, Allah will forgive him what has passed and what is to come of his sins, and Allah will grant him the fulfillment of his needs.' The narrator then mentioned another saying, and then said: 'It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allahumma-ghfirli ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu, wa ma asrartu wa ma a'lantu, wa ma asraftu, wa ma anta a'lamu bi minni, Antal-Muqaddimu wa Antal-Mu'akhkhiru, la ilaha illa Anta.' (O Allah, forgive me for what I have put forward and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have disclosed, what I have exceeded in, and what You know better than I. You are the One Who brings forward and You are the One Who delays. There is no god but You.)' This saying is a cure for the believer.
