اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَحْلاَمِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِي فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الأَمْرِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the actions of Shaytan and the bad dreams sent by Shaytan, and from anything that might lead me to a negative outcome.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'amalish-shaytan wa ahlamish-shaytan wa lam yakun li fihi shay'un minal-amr.
When to Read
Recite this dua immediately upon waking from a disturbing or bad dream. It's a proactive step to seek Allah's protection against the ill effects of the dream and any potential negative influence from Shaytan.
How to Read
It is recommended to also: 1. Seek refuge in Allah by saying: "أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ" (*A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajeem* – I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan). 2. Spit to your left side three times. 3. Do not narrate the bad dream to anyone, as this can prevent its harm. 4. Turn over to your other side (if you were sleeping on your left side, turn to your right).

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Shaytan. If anyone sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge with Allah from it and from Shaytan, and he should spit to his left three times, and he should not tell anyone about it, and it will not harm him.' Abu Qatadah said: 'The Prophet (ﷺ) commanded us to do these things when seeing a bad dream, and he mentioned the following supplication: "اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَحْلاَمِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِي فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الأَمْرِ " (*Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'amalish-shaytan wa ahlamish-shaytan wa lam yakun li fihi shay'un minal-amr*).
