In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of my own self, and from the evil of Shaitan and his shirk (or his traps/associates), and from bringing evil upon myself or casting it upon a Muslim. O Allah, I seek refuge in Your Noble Face and Your Perfect Words from the evil of whatever You are holding by the forelock. O Allah, You remove sin and debt. O Allah, Your soldiers cannot be defeated, Your promise cannot be broken, and riches cannot benefit their owner, (for the wealth is) from You. Glory be to You and praise be to You!

When to Read
This comprehensive dua can be recited daily as a general protection, or specifically when feeling vulnerable to negativity or the ill effects of an envious or wicked person's gaze. It's also beneficial when starting any new endeavor or when entering a potentially challenging environment.
How to Read
Recite with sincerity and conviction, focusing on Allah's power to protect. Make the dua in Arabic as taught by the Prophet ﷺ. If you are unable to recite the full Arabic, understanding the meaning and making the supplication in your own words with the same intention is also valuable, but striving to learn the authentic Arabic is highly recommended. The Prophet ﷺ taught this dua to a companion, and it is beneficial to reflect on the meaning as you recite it.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates seeking Allah's protection from internal evils (our own souls and Shaitan's temptations) and external harms, including the malicious intent of others. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this to a companion who was experiencing recurring nightmares, indicating its power to ward off unseen troubles and malevolent influences. Seeking refuge in Allah's 'Noble Face' and 'Perfect Words' emphasizes the immense power and mercy we are turning to.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me a complete set of words to say for the supplication (du'a) when I wake up in the morning and when I go to bed at night: 'O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, for my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, and from my right and from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being ambushed from beneath me (i.e., from the earth). He said: 'Abdullah taught them to his grown-up children who could remember them. He taught them to some of his young children who he feared would not remember them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'For them, and for those who recite them regularly, they are a protection.' And in another narration: 'Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not teach me any words other than these ones, and I did not abandon them.' Another narration mentioned: 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a pain he felt in his body from the time he became Muslim. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Place your hand on the part of your body where you feel pain and say: Bismillah (In the name of Allah) three times and say seven times: A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru (I seek refuge in Allah and His Power from the evil of what I feel and what I fear).' This hadith here is about the general protection from all evil, including the evil eye of a wicked person, as it encompasses seeking refuge from all forms of harm, seen and unseen.
